Finding us
On your way to us, you will likely turn off the A92 towards Balmerino (there are three options that all lead to us!) and follow the wee road down towards the village and Balmerino Abbey.
Please note that Kirkton of Balmerino is a separate village, just East of Balmerino. Also, the wedding is not at Balmerino Church, which is in another hamlet called Bottomcraig anyway! So, definitely don't go there.
Entering Balmerino, hopefully will find yourself at a junction by a bus stop, with the road heading down towards the river. The Abbey entrance is halfway down this road, on the right.
Opposite the Abbey entrance is a big modern-ish barn. If you are coming by car we have arranged parking in the ground by this barn and also further up the road if there is space.
Places to stay
Dundee has the widest range of accommodation including hotels, self catering and guest houses. Otherwise our closest town is Newport On Tay (the Newport Inn has rooms). Cupar or Leuchars are within a 20 minute drive away and St Andrew's is only slightly further, around a 30 minute drive.
Things to do
To combine with your visit, St Andrews is great for shopping, beach walks and old varsity architecture. And golf, a bit.
Dundee's best visits would be V+A museum and the Shackleton's Antarctic ship Discovery and visitor centre next door. In town the lovely McManus museum is often missed, and the iconic The Bach cafe next door to it worth a visit. The view from the top of Dundee law hill is worth the drive.
As is the view from Norman's Law, a short hillwalk near Balmerino, with incredible views of the river Tay and estuary.
